The Medici Cheetah design is part of the Fairytale di Firenze Spring 2026 collection by Sabina Savage.  It draws inspiration from the art and symbolism of the Italian Renaissance. Set within a dreamlike landscape influenced by ‘The Arrival in Bethlehem’, the scene blends imagined structures with landmarks of Medici Florence, including the Basilica di Santa Croce and the Battistero di San Giovanni.

In the foreground, a reclining cheetah echoes the elegance of Titian’s ‘Venus of Urbino’, its languid, upward gaze recalling the serenity of Renaissance portraiture. In the distance, a giraffe references the remarkable gift presented to Lorenzo de’ Medici by the Sultan of Egypt in 1487, accompanied by other rare creatures that reflect the Renaissance fascination with distant worlds.
