Our Scarves, Styled for the Occasion

Now, let's talk about the outfits!

One of our favourite parts of the evening was seeing our scarves come to life through three beautifully styled looks.

Our lovely model, Polly, wore three outfits thoughtfully put together by Paulina, each featuring a Beyond Scarf silk scarf paired with stunning pieces from Calgary designer Anneke Forbes.

From relaxed everyday elegance to sophisticated office wear and rich evening textures, each outfit showed just how much a scarf can change the feel of a look.

And the best part? These are styling ideas you can bring into your own wardrobe.

Look One: Modern Comfort | The Trench & Denim

Casual, polished, and effortlessly put together.

Who says jeans can't look sophisticated?

For our first look, Paulina paired a beautiful navy-blue Box Pleat Trench by Anneke Forbes with classic straight-leg denim and a simple black top.

The trench brought structure to the outfit, while an oversized Beyond Scarf silk scarf, featuring navy blue, white, and black detailing, added texture, volume, and a little personality around the neckline.

The scarf was styled with a generous drape and soft folds, bringing attention to its beautiful print while keeping the overall look relaxed and comfortable.

What we love about this combination is how wearable it feels. It's stylish without trying too hard, and the scarf adds just enough interest to make an everyday outfit feel special.

Where we'd wear it: Weekend brunch, a coffee date, exploring the city, or even a business-casual meeting.

Because sometimes, all you need is a great trench, your favourite jeans, and the right scarf!

Featured Beyond Scarf Pieces in This Look: The Scarf,  Piranesi Silk Blend Square Scarf in Navy Blue

 

Adding a little art to the everyday look is the Piranesi by Inoui Éditions. Inspired by the dramatic architecture and intricate ruins of 18th-century artist Giovanni Battista Piranesi, the design brings together beautiful architectural details and elegant felines. Made from a soft silk-modal blend, this oversized 130 × 130 cm square is perfect for creating those lovely, voluminous folds around the neck. Its navy tones tie in beautifully with the trench, making the whole outfit feel effortlessly put together.

Look Two: Modern Elegance | The Power of a Skirt Suit

Classic tailoring with a playful, feminine twist.

Our second look was all about modern elegance, with a beautiful mix of structure, colour, and soft details.

Paulina styled Anneke Forbes' Double Breasted Blazer and matching Darted Mini Skirt in a rich rust-toned mini-houndstooth wool suiting.

Layered over a burgundy knit sweater, the two-piece set created a sophisticated silhouette with a subtle heritage-inspired feel.

But what really brought everything together was the scarf!

A long silk ribbon scarf from Beyond Scarf, featuring a delicate floral design in warm complementary tones, was loosely knotted at the neckline and left to fall naturally down the front.

It softened the tailored look without taking away from its elegance.

A matching burgundy shoulder bag and carefully chosen accessories completed the outfit, creating a beautiful balance between polished and playful.

We especially love how the scarf adds movement to the structured blazer. It's a small styling choice that makes the whole outfit feel more personal.

Where we'd wear it: An important meeting, a day at the office, a business lunch, or anywhere you want to feel a little extra confident.

Featured Beyond Scarf Pieces in this Look: The Scarf, KELLY Large Silk Ribbon in Earthy Red

A little silk goes a long way! The KELLY Large Silk Ribbon by Comunque brings a softer, playful touch to this tailored outfit. Made from 100% silk twill, it features a beautiful botanical print with earthy red on one side and cream on the other. Its long, narrow shape makes it especially lovely worn loosely around the neck, with the ends falling naturally over the blazer. The warm red tones complement the burgundy outfit without taking away from its classic elegance.

Featured Beyond Scarf Pieces in this Look: The Mini Bag, The Dichotomy in Burgundy

Completing the look is the Dichotomy Mini Handbag by 10.03.53. With its beautiful crescent shape, soft leather, and distinctive folded design, this little bag brings a modern touch to the classic skirt suit. Look Three: Evening Texture | Burgundy, Lace & a Little Drama

Rich autumn colours, beautiful textures, and an elegant finishing touch.

For our final look, Paulina embraced one of autumn's most beautiful colours: burgundy.

And we have to say, this one was a favourite!

The outfit featured Anneke Forbes' Shawl Collar Wrap in rich burgundy wool, layered over coordinating knitwear and an intricate lace midi skirt.

The combination of soft knitwear, delicate lace, and beautifully structured outerwear created a look that felt both luxurious and comfortable.

To finish the outfit, Paulina added a small Beyond Scarf silk neckerchief in soft pink and coral tones, tied neatly at the neckline.

Unlike the oversized scarf in our first look, this one was all about the little details.

The neckerchief added a gentle contrast to the deep burgundy palette, drawing attention toward the face without overwhelming the outfit.

A matching burgundy shoulder bag brought everything together, while an optional oversized ribbon at the waist offered another way to create a more dramatic silhouette.

We love how this look proves that even the smallest scarf can make a beautiful statement.

Where we'd wear it: An evening dinner, an autumn celebration, a gallery opening, or a special event straight after work.

Elegant, feminine, and just the right amount of dramatic.

Featured Beyond Scarf Pieces in this Look: The Scarf, Rue des Saules Neckerchief in Chocolate

Small in size, but full of character! The Rue des Saules neckerchief by Petitjean Paris takes its inspiration from the charming vineyards and quiet streets of Montmartre, Paris. Designed in France and made in Italy from 100% silk, this 45 × 45 cm scarf features warm chocolate tones and an artistic print. Tied neatly at the neckline, it adds a delicate finishing touch to the rich burgundy outfit. It's a lovely reminder that you don't always need a large scarf to make an impression.

Beautiful scarves deserve beautiful outfits, and we were fortunate to collaborate with Calgary designer Anneke Forbes for the evening.

Anneke generously lent us pieces from her collection, including the Box Pleat Trench, Double Breasted Blazer, Darted Mini Skirt, and Shawl Collar Wrap.

Her designs brought beautiful structure, thoughtful tailoring, and timeless elegance to each of Paulina's looks.

We particularly loved seeing how the tailored silhouettes and rich autumn colours worked alongside our silk scarves. Each piece had its own character, allowing Paulina to create three very different looks.

Anneke's approach to design focuses on fit, individuality, and thoughtfully made clothing, values that feel right at home with our own love for pieces that can be styled and enjoyed in so many ways.

What We Loved Most About the Evening

If there's one thing we took away from Avenue's Best Dressed, it's that personal style is exactly that: personal.

Some people love a bold print. Others prefer classic tailoring, soft colours, or one carefully chosen accessory.

There really isn't one right way to dress.

And that's what we love about scarves. The same silk scarf can look completely different depending on who wears it and how they choose to style it.

A loose drape, a simple knot, a ribbon around the neck- sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.

Seeing Calgary's fashion community come together to celebrate creativity and individuality made the evening all the more special.
