The Glass Swan Silk Twill 90 in Crystal/Calcite
The Glass Swan rests peacefully in a dreamlike world of soft pastel colours. Around her, a castle courtyard is filled with sparkling fruits, glass objects, floating bubbles, delicate flags, and crystal-like liquids. Light passes through them without causing harm, representing purity. Pearls symbolize truth and preciousness, while tiny insects remind us that life is always changing.
The design was inspired by Italian Renaissance art, especially Botticelli’s Primavera and The Birth of Venus. During this period, artists often used glass, bubbles, pearls, and sheer fabrics as symbols of purity and innocence.
The scene blends a Renaissance still life with a magical landscape. Half-peeled citrus fruits, snails, and wasps sit among glass vessels, while pastel palaces and tall spires rise above distant mountains. It feels like a world suspended between earth and heaven.
The playful text within the design is also inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus.
