The Medici Cheetah Neckerchief in Musk/Maraschino
From Sabina Savage’s Fairytale di Firenze collection, The Medici Cheetah reclines languorously from an arched lunette high in the castle turrets, overlooking a hazy, unfinished fresco. This ethereal aerial view blends myth and reality, from the Tower of Babel to the Tower of Pisa, the Basilica di Santa Croce, and the Battistero di San Giovanni. Soft white petals contrast with luminous, glassy fruits, symbolizing purity and blood, while columbines crown the cheetah’s head and a noble dove brings news.
Inspired by Italian Renaissance paintings and cultural events, the design draws from The Arrival in Bethlehem by Master LC, Titian’s Venus D’Urbino, and The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch. Exotic animals, white tulips, cherries, and pomegranate evoke divine and earthly symbolism, while the banded sky references La Divina Commedia di Dante by Domenico di Michelino. Through its blend of elegance, myth, and ethereal light, the composition reflects a timeless sense of wonder and grace.
